It is amazing what you can see when you know what you are looking for.This week I want to use George Knudson as an example. Mr Knudson was most likely the 3rd best ball striker of all time. In this lesson I would like you to turn off the sound and then watch how far forward George moves as he goes through and past the ball.

Over my years of teaching I have witnessed how slow the learning process can be for players who possess the wrong mental imagery of what ‘correct’ is. Unfortunately, far too often the explanations and actions do not line up with one another.

Never Give Up Anything For the Sake of Balance

I first heard this while attending a golf school being taught by the great Canadian golfer Mr. George Knudson, without a doubt one of the top 5 best ball strikers to ever play the game. While I have never forgotten the phrase, why has it taken me 30 years to finally write about it? The answer is simple… I just didn’t get it!

I believe if you search the internet, you will find that I’m not alone and that no one else is writing about it either. I suppose this means that they too didn’t get it. It’s at a moment like this I truly wish I could turn back the clocks and ask Mr. Knudson questions such as, “What do you mean by that?” I suspect it is a result of experiences such as this, why I am adamant about making time during my schools for students to ask questions; an unanswered question can easily leave a gaping hole in the equation.
