Tiger + Pressure

Listening to the guys on the Golf Channel  I  hear them talk about Tiger not being able to perform his new technique under pressure and that they are waiting to see how he hits it at the Tavistock cup under ‘friendly conditions’.

Here is my problem with that.  We are talking about Tiger Woods, a guy that succeeds under pressure and who doesn’t wilt like the majority of us.  Once again we are trying to give him the same emotions and feelings that we have. When will everyone recognize that he just isn’t the same as us and that is why he wins so much?

We keep looking for reasons to explain his poor play.   Let me tell you that it isn’t his new swing coach and it isn’t the pressure.  The answer lies in the fact that the the mans world has been rocked.  We continuously make the mistake and assume that golf is all about great mechanics.  It’s not.  At his level it is all about how much you like yourself at the moment of impact, and right now Tiger is less in love with himself than ever before.

Will he ever get it back?  Probably not.  Sure he will win again, but never like he used to.
